Macaw Soft Drinks and Blackburn Rovers in ‘Soccer Idols’ partnership

To promote its new H2 drinks brand, Macaw Soft Drinks is sponsoring a ‘Pop Idol’-style search for future football talent.

Lancashire-based Macaw has teamed up with Blackburn Rovers FC and local radio station, Rock FM, to launch ‘H2 Soccer Idols’ across the northwest. Potential young soccer stars between 5 and 16 years old will be invited to attend regional ‘heats’, at which they will be able to display their skills and get tips from club coaches and players.

The most promising children from each event will spend a day at the Blackburn Rovers Academy, where they will be treated to a fun day working closely with the club’s scouts and coaches. H2 Soccer Idols finalists will also win tickets to a Rovers home game and could have the chance to escort the team on to the pitch.

Macaw will be supporting the sponsorship of H2 Soccer Idols with public relations activity, along with branding and sampling of H2 drinks at the events.
